Child painting on an evaluation session

This is a demo article -- to preview the layout. The content is not descriptive of the Programme

The application window opens on 02 September 2026 and closes on 30 June 2027. Applicants are asked to submit a research statement (max 1000 words), two academic references, a copy of their degree certificate and a short CV. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an academic interview — in person at Alexandroupoli or by video conference — during the second half of July.

New this year: computational pathology

An additional elective stream in computational pathology will run for the first time, taught jointly by Prof. M. Iliadis at DUTH and Prof. R. Okafor at Columbia. The stream is open to students from either institution and will be capped at twelve places per cohort. Reading lists and the seminar schedule will be published on e-Study by mid-July.

"We want applicants who are excited by methods, not just by problems — people willing to sit with a noisy dataset and a clinical question at the same time."

Fees, waivers and accommodation

Tuition for the 2026–2027 cohort is set at the level published in the programme handbook. A limited number of need-based fee waivers will be made available; applicants should indicate interest on the main application form. The university's housing office can assist incoming students with accommodation in Alexandroupoli and Komotini, and a partial subsidy is available for the Columbia rotation block.
